DTW ground crew is supposedly understaffed and Detroit has a high unemployment rate....seems like a no-brainer....waited over 40 minutes tonight for a ground crew tug to push the plane away from the gate. Come on man!!!
Always have an issue when flying with this Airport. Recently had a flight and arrived an hour before boarding. The line for security which only had about 25-30 people in it took nearly an hour. Apparently they were short staffed, and then decided it was a good idea to train all the new employees on the same day, while only having 1 line open. arrived at the gate and the flight hadn't left yet, but they refused to let us board because the door was already closed. Missed our flight due to a slow staff.
The free airport WiFi doesn't include internet connection, which is frustrating given the regular announcements encouraging you to connect. We've tried throughout the terminal with no luck.
Mostly friendly and helpful service. Plenty of services and amenities. Freedom Center Military Lounge (USO equivalent) is just to the North of where you enter from security checkpoints... next to Gate A43. Certainly a modern terminal.
It’s easy to enjoy this terminal. All Delta. Lots of food and shopping options. And a few Delta Sky Clubs that are huge! Easy to get from one end of the terminal to the other via the train. All the new stands are named after famous publications and there’s even an Illy cafe! Worth arriving a few hours early to explore.
