I appreciated the professional visit i had with office consultant, Jordan Cummings, regarding Living Will, funeral pre-planning & cremation urn options. All questions & concerns I had was answered thoroughly & I left knowing all that was needed to have my estate, important documents & final preparations covered. I also was given a personal tour around the cemetery where I felt more like I was walking through a Historic Museum verses a cemetery where people sometimes feel creeped out or eerie. I experienced a very peaceful place today.
Thank you to the amazingly friendly and helpful lady in the admin office at Woodlawn who did not see my request as strange, as I was worried she might. I fulfilled a dream of coming to the USA and specifically to Detroit to pay my respects to both Ms Parks and Mr Holton.

Such a peaceful resting place for all who dwell there. Beautiful sayings on the walls surrounding the chapel. In the warm sunshine yesterday, with birds chirping and squirrels scampering around, I marvelled at the tranquility of this place.
This is a huge cemetery, with lots of interesting mausoleums and headstones. Rosa Parks is interred here, although it's difficult to get into the building where she is. There are several Motown singers buried here, as well as the Dodge brothers of Dodge Motor Company.
I was able to visit the grave site of both Rosa Parks & Proof (Eminem's best friend) in the same space..
Very beautiful, well taken care of. It always breaks my heart to see unkempt head stones and lawn, but wood lawn is very clean, with a unique beauty, and also peaceful.
