Mariners' Church of Detroit is a stalwart of tradition, but without the brow beating. Entering the foyer, you are elevated from the hustle and bustle of the street, and once the organ starts and the choir sings you are transported to another dimension altogether. Mariners' Church is an independent, non-denominational house of worship, which uses the 1928 Book of Common Prayer.

Beautiful and fascinating historic church right in the heart of Detroit, at the foot of the Renaissance Center and facing Hart Plaza. Easy parking in underground garage (entrance in median of Jefferson Ave.). Sermons tend to be scholarly and skew slightly conservative, but politics are mostly avoided. Diverse congregation, friendly atmosphere. World-class organ by D.F. Pilzecker of Toledo, OH. Two highly skilled organists and excellent small professional choral ensemble. Music is traditional Anglican, European and American liturgical standards, traditional hymnal; no pablum, all meat and potatoes. Highly recommended.

great church. Everyone is very respectfull. Have been going for over 20 years

I attended this church for many years, through many precious moments of my life, before I moved out of state. And I miss it so much sometimes it just hurts. This is a place where God is definitely present at all times, and you can really feel it. It is sacred. A well cared for building with love and respect for all. I really miss the Ingalls family, too. But thankful the old Anglican traditions are preserved.

The moment I walked into the church for the first time, over 30 years ago, I sensed the presence of God. It has been my spiritual home ever since.
