The pie, while baked to perfection, had no discernable sauce on it. My toppings: Pineapple, red onion, and bacon, were tasty and the thin crust superbly crisp and firm. The lack of sauce really killed it for me.
We had a 1/2 and 1/2 pie with wings as a starter. My brother ordered a salad as appetizer that never arrived.
Get in early if you are looking for a place to eat prior to an event. Prices are reasonable. Pizza is really good. Pretty nice bar / restaurant atmosphere. Most people will stay until the start of a show. Can enter the arena ftom the restaurant.
Overall, a good new place with room to grow and improve.
Got the deep dish pepperoni and sausage. Cooked good and tasty. Skip the garlic bread...tasted great but at $8, way overpriced. Service was snappy with a smile. Nice place, great location in LCA.
Looks pretty busy before any event, but it's hard to tell who's there before the game and will go into the arena or who's there to watch the game. The bar is nice; well lit, big screen TVs everywhere. Mike, the bartender (no relation to Mike Illich, for whom the pizza bar is named), is super knowledgeable about hockey and Detroit in general! Pizza is very good and reasonably priced, drinks are kind of expensive though. I think I paid $9 for a pint of Two Hearted which should have cost about $4. Overall a good spot though!
The wings were fabulous! The sauce was just a bit sweet on the initial bite, and had a finishing kick of spice that gave some real kick to them.
A tremendous atmosphere...no question. Found the current menu to be a bit limited though.
Cool place! Staff super friendly and upbeat. The waitress we had was super attentive and covered our every need. The manager was great getting us in and seated even though the place was hoping. The pizza and wings are great! Don't forget the meatballs! Yum yum. This is a great place to come with friends or host a private event.
