Walking tour of the history of African Americans from the beginnings of mankind through the journey from Africa to the United States into present day. Very vivid experiential learning. Additional presentations of African American artistic expression.
The Wright museum never disappoints! I have been to the museum multiple times to view the exhibits; attend African World festivals; to attend a story telling series and recently for TedxDetroit. Oh, I forgot to mention that my brother and sister in law held there wedding reception there. The Wright museum is an integral part of Detroit and has had a profound impact on my life. I encourage others to embrace this space because it's very inspirational to know and understand the rich history of African American contributions, innovations, perseverance and culture.
I like the CHW because it's a fun place for the entire family.
I always love the Charles Wright museum but I never seen the banquet room until my job had a event there and it was really nice.
I'm THANKFUL that the African World Festival STILL goes on -- I look forward to other exciting events there!!!
Really interesting museum in the museum district or Detroit. Absolutely worth it. Actually ended up in a hustle moves dance class down stairs somehow. Overall great experience
