Awesome museum. Focused on the history of Detroit and the city, it's inventors and people. Great history lesson. Loved the car exhibit. Loved the replicas of the towns. Good explanations. Great price too. Free. But Donated anyways.
This is one of the best museums I've ever been to. There is so much to see and it's well put together. In the basement is a recreation of an 1840s town. There is also a really fun train display. There's a lot of information on how cars are made and the history of cars. Also, sports bootlegging, skyscrapers, and all kinds of things about Detroit There is also a civil rights display that is excellent! This is a museum that is well worth your time!!
A wonderful interactive museum that displays the history of Detroit history in an enjoyable way for all ages! They have recreated old streets and shops indoors that you can walk through to have a full immersive experience as if you have been taken back in time to witness what life was like in that era. There is a wide range of exhibits from trains, to the automobile assembly line, to Detroit Sports and much more. I would definitely recommend this as a must visit to everyone traveling to Detroit as well as residents and families of all ages.
The basement is the neatest part to me. Its nice that its free. I would go again.
A wealth of information and artifacts. So much to see and the displays are incredible. I think it deserves a good solid few hours, maybe more to absorb it all in. Will return for sure.
