My mother went in the ER the other night. (12 hours!) I want to thank Zara for trying to make my mother as comfortable as she could. She did an outstanding job trying to please us with all she had to do as I watched her running from room to room and patient to patient. She has an incredible bedside manner and makes you feel at ease. Thank you again Zara!
One star because negative stars is not a choice. Some of the nurses/staff are excellent. Administrative policies to prevent negligence are not followed. 80% of the time the ball is fumbled, again and again and again. The Doctors say one thing but staff does not get proper instructions, or the info they do get is exactly the opposite of what was supposed to happen. What began as a 60% failure rate for 2 months has evolved into an 85% failure rate this past week as inpatient. This place, over-all, makes the Keystone Cops look competent, by comparison.
FROM STARTING IN EMERGENCY ROOM TO SURGERY TO ICU. TODAY WAS INTERESTING THAT'S FOR SURE. FOR THE MOST STAFF WHERE NICE WHEN I TALKED WITH THEM OR HAD QUESTIONS, BUT THERE WHERE DEFINITELY WERE STAFF THAT WERE NOT AS NICE TO ME OR MY NURSES, I SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE TEXTING ON THEIR PHONE. NOW I KNOW PHONES ARE NOT ALL BAD.... WHEN I SEE YOU TEXT A GIRL SHORTY TELLING HER HER ASS LOOKS AMAZING WHILE WORKING INFORMATION DESK SENDS A STRONG MESSAGE TO ME, YIKES. AND SOME OF THE LANGUAGE WAS LOOSE AND AT WRONG TIMES HEARING STAFF COMPLAINT ABOUT OTHER WORKERS AND SCHEDULING. AFTER BEING THERE ALL DAY THE SECURITY WAS ROUGH AFTER 8 , STANDING IN A LINE ALWAYS GETTING CUT OFF BY THERE BEING LITTLE SYSTEM FOR ENTRY. LIKE I SAID FOR THE MOST PEOPLE WORKING WITH ME TONIGHT THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONEST FRIENDLY HELPFULNESS.BLESS THE GOOD IN THIS PLACE THEY REALLY LOVE WHAT THEY DO!

By far THE BEST HOSPITAL I've ever been to!! I live near Tampa, FL and have been traveling to HF every 3 weeks for 5 months for a clinical trial for my cancer (that I've been battling for 3 1/2 years), and I've received the BEST CARE BY FAR at HF than anywhere else. I want to rent a billboard or tell CNN or something - everyone should know this! It's not just 1 doctor or 1 nurse - EVERYONE I've dealt with has been so caring and thorough and I just can't say enough nice things about them! They make contacting them super easy by giving me their email addresses and even their cell phone numbers, and respond so quickly! It's CRAZY how patient centered they are. I've heard other hospitals use phrases like 'patient centered' - well they could all learn from Henry Ford Hospital what that REALLY means! They ROCK!!
Warning Long Post - I am a 2 time cancer survivors, as you would know I have medical needs repeatedly, I had my bone marrow transplant at HF Detroit, BMT team was great, ever since that I have had my fair share of visits to Henry Ford, some visits where I had to be transported from HF Sterling Heights to Downtown - In November of this year I received a letter from a credit collection agency stating my accounts have been sent for collection, wonder that can happen if you are in a payment plan and repeatedly asked to have accounts combined and added to the existing payment plan, interesting enough neither merchant medical or the billing department can figure out why my accounts were not setup properly. After many conversation with supervisors from HF and Merchants Medical neither were of any much help - Henry Ford could not pull back the accounts which is a lie because they can but just will not even thou they messed up and merchant medical wants basically a mortgage payment or my accounts get reported - this looks like a law suit in the making. Tired of the issues, tired of the hold times, exhausted from all of this, is it not enough to endure an ALL or BMT.... no... now you have to deal with the billing department who will not help....
