Great historical park with amazing water fountain with an interesting history to it. Make sure to check out the old log cabin here also.

This is a great park in the City of Detroit, the new splash park is my daughter's favorite place, along with the rebuilt playground. Leashed dog friendly park, my pup loves to visit. If one likes working outdoors the community garden might be just the place. One can also see the Detroit Mounted Police at work there. The man made lake is a great place to fish or just walk around. There are hiking/ biking trails through the woods, and lots of wonderful wildlife. The park has seven Pokéstops and two gyms for those playing Pokémon GO.

While your here make sure to check out the Palmer Woods neighborhood that is across the street. This is one of the very few exclusive neighborhoods actually in city of Detroit for the predominately wealthy. It is monitored by a private security company which you really don't see much of unless you look like your up to no good. Comparable to the homes in the Boston Edison district in stature. The way the streets are laid out is a bit confusing and can be difficult to navigate if your not familiar. This is one of the very few places in the city where you won't see any graffiti. Architecture here is Beautiful and has a historical value all to itself which makes it worth wanting to live in this up scale urban neighborhood. Nearest Police station is literally across the street on 7 mile Rd and there is a beautiful church across the street on Woodward Ave. If you can afford to live here then look no further because this would be my top choice of places to live outside of the Downtown district. Enjoy!!

Park has went down some over the years but I see they are bringing it back & I love it they recently built a free splash park for the kids great place for a summer birthday or just to grill and let the kids play

A nice little escape away from the city, but close by. I wish it was better taken care of though, there tends to be a lot of trash on the ground and in the lake. The bike trails are ok if you have a mountain bike since it is rocky, however the trails are super short would be neat if they started to create more trails through the woods.

Refuge from the city. People of Palmer park offer free Tai chi and yoga and there is a community garden. Great splash pad. Trails but infested w hookers etc. Equestrian police keep their horses here!
