If you are looking to take your kids to a nice PLAYGROUND, there is a nice one in a lesser known corner of the park, at W.CHICAGO and WEST PARKWAY. This playground is bigger and better than the more commonly known/used one at Joy Road and Spinoza, which has the tendency to get overcrowded. In contrast, this one over off Chicago is very nice. My 8 year old suggests that "It has great slides and a fun catwalk," and my 9 year old says "It has a lot more interesting things to do, that are not usually found at our local playgrounds." This nice little area also is a great spot for a picnic/BBQ, as there are picnic tables, grills, and even a well kept bathroom facility. There is one pavilion there as well, though I assume it may need to be reserved at times. We have lived by Rouge Park for years but just recently stumbled across this 'wing' of it, and are glad we did. One little tip, the block of West Parkway adjacent to this (south of Chicago), is closed, apparently permanently, which makes this 'wing' a LITTLE harder to access. (Though it probably also helps to keep this little 'park within a park' less crowded). At any rate, you'll have no problem getting to it if you come down W.Chicago, which is easy to do from Telegraph, or *from INSIDE THE PARK you must use OUTER DRIVE TO ACCESS IT*, since it (Chicago) cuts off at Outer Dr and resumes on the eastern edge of the park.

They redid the pool and made the park wonderful again.

I'm from the Joy Road neighborhood and this park has changed dramatically. It used to be shootings and alot of drama at this park.

The only thing that I disagree with is anyone should be able to chill at the park without getting a ticket after hours.

I have always loved the park. But people have let their dog go homeless there and others feed them which is where the trouble starts. The park becomes their home and they do what dogs do . Protect home.

not a good park for the kids if you are looking 4 wholesome family fun...depending on the day, decent for family reunions if you reserve a pavilion

Great place to exercise I get my run on 5 days out the week at Rouge Park wonderful Park
