Alamo made renting a car at Detroit Metro Airport as painless as possible. The shuttles to the rental lot were frequent, the drivers friendly, and plenty of cars were available in the class I had reserved. Using the "skip the counter" option I was able to select my car quickly and get on my way. Returning the car was a little more tricky. The airport signage was not the best (as compared to other airports) and road construction in immediate area provided a maze of orange barrels. Once I found the return lot, the attendants zipped thru the process in less than 3 minutes. Big thumbs up to Alamo...clean cars, reasonable prices, fast service and friendly employees.
I waited to do my review until after the amount due was deducted from my credit card and everything was final. I am happy to say there were no surprises on my bill and everything was as it should be. I am very happy with Alamo at DTW, the people are very helpful and friendly and getting a car was very easy. We had no trouble with our car and we were able to get a larger car for 1 day longer than we would have with Enterprise. I used this vehicle to drive to a few states and meet my biological family for the first time and I am happy to say that Alamo made it a pleasant experience. No problems at all.
As good an experience as I can remember renting a car. Convenient shuttle service, quick service at the counter, free upgrade (awesome). My only complaint is not w Alamo specifically but with very poor signage to Rental Return. With all the construction it is easy to miss the turn off. Even on I-95 East it wasn’t clear what exit to return rentals. Once I found it, Return was quick. Thanks again Alamo for the upgrade. I’ll rent again.
This was the best organized and the most user-friendly car rental agency I have ever visited. Fast and courteous desk person, people to get you right to the cars, and they also gave us each a bottle of water (much appreciated after the flight) and as well offered us hot dogs (we had a dinner planned so had to pass on these!). Car return was very efficient. The shuttle bus system got us to the car rental spot and then back to the airport in good order. All in all, a very fine experience on what sometimes has been stressful in other places.
Detroit is my first home, so whenever I come to visit, which is at least once a month, Alamo is always my go to place to rent a car. I always come and have easy experience with using the kiosk and selecting a vehicle. I just wish that they had more car options to choose from. Other than that it's smooth sailing every time. It's also a plus that the shuttles are always there to take you to and from the airport, I have never waited for a shuttle.
