My favorite hangout for Karaoke. However not to pleased with the hostesse. I liked Valerie better!!!@
I heard so much about this place that I wanted to try ...My experience was terrible was 2 waitress for the whole place covering the bar too. Our waitress let us know was a 25 minutes waiting on food and we agree to wait. Took 55 minutes to get the food pork chops way over fried, hard and dry impossible to eat. I had to ask the waitress to take the mashed potatoes and heat it up in the microwave. Samething with the macaroni and cornbread dry and nasty. The bathroom back to the 60s broken doors, very poor cleaning. You can't pay me to go back.
Went during lunch hours. Food tasted great...just like soul food I'd get at home in AR. Reasonably priced. Sufficient portions. Considering they're understaffed, service was still good.
This was the first time I'd visited Burt's in 8 years. The music was still fantastic, but the food was not so good. Their homemade barbeque sauce was bitter, the greens had a burnt taste, and the Mac and cheese had a weird cinnamon or nutmeg taste. I'll go back to Burt's for the music, but I'll eat before I go.
I went here with one of my classes that was focusing on education in Detroit. Bert's has a long history in the area that is marked by growth and prosperity. The atmosphere is very welcoming and when dinning or simply listening to the music here, you feel like you're apart of something great and truly moving. The food and drink selection is great and wonderfully priced! I even ordered two peach cobblers since it was so good :)
